It was also claimed that the Tengger tribe came from the Majapahit kingdom. Due to the then state of the kingdom, which was increasingly driven by Islamic influence, the locals went to Mount Bromo and Bali. That gives them the same beliefs.

This ceremony is part of the tradition of the Tengger tribe. Kasodo usually takes place on the 14th day of the tenth month of the Tengger Hindu Tengger calendar. This ceremony begins at the Temple of Luhur Poten, at the foot of Mount Bromo. In addition, the Tengger tribe will go to the crater to launch the prepared victims. The tenders are usually in the form of agricultural or plantation products and live chickens.

Initially, this ceremony could not be separated from the story of Joko Seger and Roro Anteng. This couple has been married for a long time and was not blessed with children. After praying to the gods, Roro could finally understand Anteng, but only if the smallest child was sacrificed by being cast as an offering into the crater.

In short, the couples Joko Seger and Roro Anteng have 25 children. Because of their instincts as parents, both refused to sacrifice their youngest son. Until then, the god was angry and made a big leak out of the crater. The residents escaped to escape, but the youngest couple could not be found.

After the boy's disappearance, a supernatural voice suddenly stated that the Tengger tribe had to perform a sacrificial ceremony each year in the crater of Mount Bromo. This is the origin of the Kasodo ceremony.
